The trail following traditional local houses, colorful farms, local trees and beatiful mountain lanscapes. We are visiting the Archaeological complex of Willcahuain (3 350masl). The main 3 – story building housed the mummies of the Wari ancestors.The building is roofed with massive stone slabs and contains a system of ventilation ducts to keep the bodies dry. Definitely a good acclimatization hike for your first day in Huaraz, enjoying several snow capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca including Huascaran.
Itinerary
Day 1: Huaraz –Pitec– Huaraz
We leave at 07 :00 am from Huaraz toward to the Pitec place ( 3900 masl ) .From where we will star our hiking during 03 hours. After there we can back again to Pitec.
