Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in Tourism

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) seeks to raise awareness among regional and local authorities, tourism service providers, and the general public through prevention actions aimed at eradicating this problem in the country.

Actions

  • Technical assistance to regional and local governments: we train officials working in regional and local governments on the prevention of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism sector.
  • Informative videos: we provide audiovisual material to raise awareness among officials and tourism service providers, and to teach them good practices to prevent the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA).
  • Capacity building for tourism service providers: we raise awareness, inform, and convey good practices to tourism service providers regarding the prevention of ESNNA.
  • Promotion of the signing of codes of conduct against ESNNA: we promote the signatures of the Mandatory Subscription Affidavit of the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents by the legal representatives of tourism service providers.
  • This is in accordance with Law No. 30802, which establishes conditions for the admission of children and adolescents to accommodation establishments, with the aim of ensuring their protection and integrity.
