Four days, two valleys and a small summit! Have extra adventure holiday combining this trek plus climbing one non – technical peak like Ishinca.
Day 01: Huaraz – Cojup – Palcacocha Lake
We leave from Huaraz toward to the front of the Cojup Valley (3 750masl), where we begin our trek. We walk going up along the valley, where the vegetation starts to get very thick beside the trail with Quenual forest. We spend the night at the bottom of this beautiful valley, with excellent sunset views. From there we can visit the Palcacocha Lake. The Camp Site is at 4 350masl.
Day 2-Palcacocha lake – Perolcocha lake – Ranrapalca moraine
This Is A Short Day But Very Steep. We Start The Day Ascending To Our Next Camp Site Which Is Situated On The Moraine Of Ranrapalca And Ishinca At 4 850masl. During The Journey We Are Passing By Small Lakes And Enjoying Beautiful Landscapes.
Day 3-Ranrapalca – Ishinca Summit – Ishinca Base Camp
We continue steeply on a twisting climb toward to Ishinca pass. Skirting the Ranrapalca and Ishinca moraine we get the col, where we will begin use the crampons and the safety gears to traverse the Ishinca Pass and from where we will reach the final slope that goes to the summit. Our aim is to be early on top to enjoy the sunrise and the great views to the other peaks. This is a beautiful pass, where we can appreciate the turquoise Perolcocha Lake on the base of Ranrapalca; south of the lake, Huantsan Mountain; although far away, dominates the view along with Pucaranra , Palcaraju and Ishinca Mountain. Then we descend slowly over the Ishinca moraine. We spend the night in Ishinca Base Camp at 4 300masl.
Day 4-Ishinca Base Camp – Pashpa – Huaraz
Our Last Day We Start Walking Easily Along The Ishinca Valley, Passing Great Vegetation Predominated By Quenual Forest. We Are arriving to Pashpa Village(3 600masl), Where The Vehicle Will Be Waiting For Us To Go Back To Huaraz.
